Who is getting ready for camping season? We have a few trips on the books, and I’m to ready get out there. Last year, we camped with another family, and started a new tradition-camping cocktails!
For each campsite, we picked a different cocktail. Much effort went into the decision, basing the cocktail on the area and the campsite. Before each trip, we would either get together or text about which cocktail to make. Then we would divide up the shopping for ingredients.
Pomegranate Mojito
Our first camping cocktail was at Turquoise Lake. We decided that a blue drink was not necessary and didn’t sound that appealing. So we went with more of tropical vibe, and had a pomegranate mojito. Although with no rum, it was more like a martini. We went with this recipe here.

Cowgirl Cooler
For our trip to Curt Gowdy in Wyoming, we wanted something with a Western feel, but neither of us are too fond of whiskey. We found this recipe called Cowgirl Cooler. It was right up our alley for the Fourth of July weekend. The lemonade made it a perfect summery drink.

Mango Margarita
Our last trip of the summer was to Rosy Lane in Almont near Crested Butte. This is my favorite mountain town, and if I had to pick a word to describe it, I would use majestic. This mango margarita seemed to fit the bill. We used this Easy Mango Margarita recipe from Salt and Lavender.

Overall the Cowgirl Cooler was my favorite cocktail, and also my favorite camping trip of last summer. Perhaps the two go hand in hand.
Do you have any camping or summer traditions?
